Christmas Cribs in Goa, 2012

The Department of Art and Culture organized a Crib competition during Christmas as a part of its promotion and preservation of age old tradition in State. This competition was conducted at district level i.e. North Goa and South Goa. A panel of three jury members comprising of renowned sculptor, Verodina De Sousa, Former lecturer at Goa College of Art, Querozito De Souza and Fr Max Gonsalves of Pilar Society judged the competition.

The result of Crib Competition-2012 at District Level are as follows:

North Goa:

first prize – Paul M D’Souza, Arambol Beach –Rs 10,000, second prize-Stanley Agnelo Dias, Near Church, St Cruz – Rs 7,000, Third Prize- Vincent De Souza, Don Jao Waddo, Merces –Rs 5,000, Five Consolation Prizes- Youth of Vaddy Merces, Vaddy Merces –Rs 2,000, Our Lady of Remedios, Patto, Ribandar –Rs 2,000, Tome Godinho, Dr Pissurlekar Road, Panaji –Rs 2,000, Lynn Rodrigues, behind CMM, Merces –Rs 2,000 and St Lawrence Church Crib, Agassaim – Rs 2,000.

South Goa:

first prize – Fulti Fulam, Nr Chowgule College, Agalli, Margao –Rs 10,000, second prize -Junction Boys, Nr Church Playground, Velim – Rs 7,000, third prize- Tender Boys of Falvaddo, Falwaddo, Arossim – Rs 5,000, five consolation prizes- Young Generation, Baga, Ambelim – Rs 2,000, St Khuris Boys, Colledongor, Raia –Rs 2,000, Young Boys of Comlatolle, Benaulim –Rs 2,000, S S Sporting Boys of Baida, Baida, Nuvem –Rs 2,000 and Angel Boys of Gogol, Margao –Rs 2,000.

The winners will be awarded prizes at a special function during Lokotsav’13 on January 12 at 5.30 pm at Darya Sangam, Kala Academy, Campal, Panjim.
